Dynamic system models and their simulation in the Semantic Web

Modelling and Simulation (M&S) are core tools for designing, analysing operating today’s industrial systems. They often also represent both a valuable asset significant investment. Typically, their use is constrained to software environment intended be used by engineers on single computer. However, the knowledge relevant task involving modelling simulation in general distributed nature, even across organizational boundaries, may large volume. Therefore, it desirable increase FAIRness (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reuse) of M&S capabilities; enable loosely coupled systems systems; support composition execution intelligent agents. In this contribution, suitability Semantic Web technologies achieve these goals investigated an open-source proof concept-implementation based Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) standard presented. Specifically, models, model instances, results exposed through hypermedia API implementation Pragmatic Proof Algorithm (PPA) successfully demonstrate API’s generic agent. The solution shows increased degree fully supports its could further improved providing more “ rich” (meta)data.
